I am a photo editor at CNN Digital. I have previously worked at the Pittsburgh Union Progress, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Columbia Missourian. Originally from Olathe, Kansas, I started my journey with photography at age 11 when I was gifted a little red point-and-shoot camera.
I graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in photojournalism and a master of arts with an emphasis in visual editing and management.
Outside of the newsroom, I am interested in photographic history and research. I assisted with The Pruitt Project, a book and exhibition of Jim Crow-era Mississippi photographs, while in school and conducted an exploration into influences on photographers as my master’s project.
